It has become apparent that this procedure has never been explained but just carried out.

Marion Bamber
June 21st, 2011 · Comments Off
It is with regret that we have received the news that that Marion Bamber passed away in her sleep at home. Marion was involved with Colchester Roller Hockey Club for around 20 years. For the last 10 of those years, despite her illness, she was instrumental in keeping the Club going, as without her driving force the club would have folded.
Marion will be a great loss to the sport
Everyone who knew Marion, will be aware that she has been fighting with Cancer for many years and never gave in. She was a brave lady and our thoughts are with her and her family.

The Herne Bay Pier Pavilion aka the “Cathedral of Rink Hockey”
June 7th, 2011 · Comments Off
When Herne Bay’s Grand Pier Pavilion was opened on 1st December 1910, competitive rink hockey was 30 year’s old and there were talented players already in the town. The Herne Bay rink hockey and skating club was formed just over a week later on 10th December 1910. There were competitive matches from the word go with teams from all over the country and Herne Bay winning more often than not. There was a particularly keen rivalry with Faversham’s classy team.

Ex England RH goalkeeper passes away
May 24th, 2011 · Comments Off
I have just heard the sad news from a fellow ex Herne United Roller Hockey player, Ian “Syd’ Horton, today, that former Ex-England and Herne United Goalkeeper, Robert “Bob” Scrivens, died on Thursday 19th May after a short illness.
Known to everyone as Bob, his playing career spanned from the mid 1950’s until he retired from the game at the end of the 1960’s. He won many winners and runners up medals with his only club Herne United in competitions during this time. But his finest display of goal keeping was when he was outstanding when the club won the 1967
Herne Bay Easter Festival beating the Italian National Club Champions, Candy Monza, in the final.
At International level Bob was selected for the England National team representing his country as listed below.
