Further to much discussion and emailing, the NRHA have decided that the rules covering the Conference Play-offs and Finals will be as follows :-
1. That the team that qualifies must comprise first claim players from the Club that it represents or include second claim players, resident in the Region, but who have played for that team in the Regional League through a majority of the season.
2. That there will be no overage players, Ladies, as allowed in the ECRHA leagues.
3. That the team that wins the Regional League will go directly through to the Conference final.
4. That the teams that came second and third in the Regional Leagues will go into the Conference play-offs.
5. That the play-offs will be played as an “all play all” tournament for up to 5 teams.
6. That if the full complement of 6 teams are entered, then the play-off will be run as 2 pools of 3 teams, with a cross over for the first and second teams in each pool with the 2 winning teams then playing again for the final position in the Conference Finals.
7. That the Conference finals will comprise 4 teams in each category who will play an “all play all” tournament.
8. That the players that played in the team that played in the Regional league are the team who play in the next round.
9. If a qualifying team does not have 10 players, the Club may add to that team from its first claim and second claim players, Region residents only.
