600 Club update

May 19th, 2008 · No Comments

600clubdrum.jpg Saturday saw the first draw of the second year of the 600 club.
Kirsty Ingham was over the moon to go home with a cheque for £150. This, she told me was going straight into the bank to go towards the cost of her going to Japan in October as part of the England Ladies Team who are competing in the World Championships.

So far, apart from paying out £150.00 to 13 winners and £250.00 to 5 winners, It has
enabled us to contribute £3000 towards the funding of Carlos Amaral to work full-time to develop our sport.
So far Carlos has been carrying out training sessions for many clubs around the Country as well as Coaches and Referees courses.
In fact, on Saturday at National Training at Peterborough, I sat and signed 30 or 40 certificates for those of you who have successfully completed and passed the various courses and tests that you have attended.
Carlos has also been in touch with various Schools, one being in Maidenhead.
He is working with Local Authorities offering open sessions of roller hockey at local sports centres.
This type of development work is very difficult to carry out when you are in full time employment, as we all are.
I am sure that, in time, knowledge of our discipline of Roller Hockey will grow within the general public through this involvement with schools and local authorities.
As part of the National Training Programme we have the 2010 Project.
This is the consistent and constructive training of a group of young roller hockey players who will make up our National Schoolboy Team for the 2010 European Schoolboy Championships.
We are planning to hold this Championship in England.
To do this we need to raise a considerable sum of money and the 600 Club, with your support, can achieve not only this but also offer you something back in return, the chance of winning cash every month.
For only £6 per month you could have, currently, a 1 in 120 chance of winning.
If you would like to get involved, drop me an email and I will send you the relevant forms.
