The Senior England Ladies Squad continued with their preparation for the World Championships at Peterborough last weekend. They were faced with a tough challenge at the beginning of their session when they played the Schoolboys. The boys kept the pace of the game up testing the girls’ fitness, who had to maintain a tight man to man defence. The schoolboys played well and managed to exploit a few gaps in defence, however the girls had periods of possession and were able to create some great one-two’s in the area, two of which were converted. Overall the score tipped in the boys favour, but the Ladies are already geared up for the re-match next month!
The Ladies Development session was also a great success, with 34 girls in attendance. It was great to see so many promising young players together and gives Ladies hockey in England a rosy future.
The Senior Ladies continue their preparation at the weekend when they compete in Eastern Counties Division Two at Manningtree.
