England 2 Switzerland 3

Half-time: 1-1

It was a brilliant performance by the England team bouncing back from yesterday’s loss against Portugal.

The main objective this morning was to rebuild the confidence in the team.

Tactically it was decided to play man to man from the beginning of the game to which the team responded very well by scoring the opening goal within 2 minutes of the start.

This goal came from one of the set move that have been worked on during the National Training Weekends and the other preparation training sessions.

Through the first half of the game England had greater possession and more goal scoring opportunities than the Swiss.

The Swiss came out for the second half playing man to man full rink, which made it very difficult for us but the boys reacted very well and stuck to the task but conceded a second goal 5 minutes into the half.

But the resilience and resolve of these young English players showed with an immediate second goal from a counter attack.

We were very unlucky to concede the third goal and tried everything in the final minutes of the game to get the goal back.

On balance the feeling in the stadium was that England deserved the result or at the very least a draw considering the performance that they put in.

President, Keith Allen, arrived 1 hour before the start of the game and said how proud he was of the team’s performance.
