World Championship – England v Mozambique 1-2

The prize for the winner of this match was safety from relegation to Group B. England started well with a goal after a couple of minutes from James. Soon afterwards Mozabique’s Bruno Adriao took a tumble and cut his head on his stick but while he was off Mozambique equalized. That was the way it stayed until half time.

After the interval the match completely lost any impetus with random chances to both teams but it was Mozambique that struck lucky with three minutes to go.

Once again, England are in the play offs for relegation along with Holland, USA (who beat Mozambique in their group) and Colombia. Of the group D teams it was only England that lost in the second round of the competition: Italy beat France, Switzerland beat Portugal and Andorra beat USA.
