Coach, Phil McVey said after the match how satisfied he was with the team’s performance. Every player was involved in achieving the result which was an improvement on the 05 championships. In a full noisy rink there was a moment of confusion over an unheard whistle which allowed Spain to take a couple of goals they probably would not have scored. The team recovered quickly and played to keep the score at 7.

The other games were – France 1 Germany 1. This was a tight close and very even battle. Germany probably had the edge but could not move in front.
The other two games had predictable results. Italy 11 Austria 1 The Austrians are very young some players only 12/13 years. Portugal 12 Switzerland 0.
Today England play France.
