NCRHA – Disciplinary Points Process Launched

January 20th, 2006 · No Comments

All Clubs and Referees for NCRHA are being made aware of the Points Process now in place, that could see their more ‘undisciplined’ players suspended from competition.

Please see lists below of disciplinary points accumulated in the NCRHA Leagues so far this season. Only the highest ranked card issued to a player in a game is counted to his/her individual points tally.

Please note, this information will be publicised on the NCRHA Website (www.playrollerhockey.net “England North” ), but it is the responsibility of the Club Secretary to ensure Club Coaches and Players are aware of the NCRHA Disciplinary Points Process forthwith.

Once 15 points have been accumulated by a player, an automatic one match ban is enforced immediately (ie, the next match played by the offending player’s team in the league, even if this is on the same day). Should a player reach 15 points after the last match of the competition, the suspension will be carried out for the first match of the following season if the player participates for any club in an NCRHA league. This 1 match ban is for the accumulation of disciplinary points only, and is NOT inclusive of bans received through Red Cards. Red Cards DO increase the overall points tally however.

Therefore, if a player is on 5 points and receives a Red card, he will receive a 1 match ban for the Red card, and a FURTHER 1 match ban for reaching the threshold (15) of disciplinary points. Dependant on the Referees Match Report, further action may be taken against the player in Red Card Incidents dependant on the circumstances.

A table of disciplinary points to date will be supplied to the Senior Referee and host club at each tournament (starting 22/1/06) so match bans can be enforced as applicable. Once the suspension has been enforced, the player’s disciplinary tally returns to zero.

At the end of the season the CLUB with the lowest accumulated disciplinary points ACROSS ALL TEAMS entered in NCRHA Leagues, will be awarded the NCRHA Fair Play Trophy.

PLEASE NOTE : Although a Player’s points tally returns to zero after suspension, points accumulated per Club continue to mount, until the end of the season. A Club’s overall points tally will be divisible by the number of teams in each respective NCRHA League. IE, if at the end of the season a Club has accumulated 150 points but play in 3 NCRHA leagues, the final tally will be 150 divided by 3 = 50 points. Similarly if a Club accumulate 50 points but have only 1 team in an NCRHA league, their final tally would be 50 points.

The disciplinary Points are allocated as follows:

Yellow : 2 points
Blue : 5 Points
Red : 10 Points

(MOS) Antia Campbell : Y 2
