England faced an improving Australia on day 2 of the championship, starting the match with the objective of maximising possession and creating scoring opportunities through a good Man on Man defence.

Within the first 5 minutes, Oaten worked the ball behind the goal and passed to Jupp coming into the area from the right to score a wonderful goal and then minutes later Australia cut down Ableson to give away a direct Free hit that he converted well.

England momentarily became over confident and failed to keep a man back, allowing a counter attack that resulted in Oaten bringing down the ball carrier inside the area and forcing keeper Ashley Pay to defend a penalty that was toped and went in (2-1).

Then a long range shot from the left caught an England defender to go in at the far post (2-2).

A disappointed England then reasserted its dominance to regain control of the play going to the break 2-2 with 70% possession.

A reenergised England came out of the change room determine to patiently break down our opponents defence and did so.

Time and again England placed the ball on goal from a series of accurate strong passes and shortly Jupp dispossessed an opponent inside his penalty area while saving a counter attack, and took 5 strong steps then passed the ball between a defenders stick and foot up the floor Ableson who scored.

New team member Jack Bishop made his Junior debut for England and then scored two classy goals to ensure an England victory 5-2.

England held 75% possession and, excluding the extraordinary, seem to have ensured a minimum 6th place.
