Having been delayed in London by fog, England’s Under 20´s missed their flight from Paris to Buenos Aires and had to stay the night. The next plane they could catch was to via Atlanta Georgia to Buenos Aires.
From their, England could not get a flight (2.5 Hours) to Mendoza till the following Sunday, due to a strike, and instead the team had to charter a 15 seat plane (about 8 metres long) to get to their destination.
After 3 hours rest from a 40 hour journey, England played a match against the Junior regional champions which saw a 0-0 result at half time.
After the break, a new team was presented, which turned out to be members of the team that won the Argentine Premier league last season.
The team were competitive and held their opponents on a slippery terrazzo floor to 0-0 till the last 5 minutes, when fatigue kicked in and the side conceded 5 goal to end the match 0-5.
The next morning the team trained 2 hours on a partially completed outdoor rink, with no barriers, in order to fine tune its system and then embarked on its final journey to the town of Mallague, which took 6.5 hours by bus.
