ND1&2 – Clubs must supply referees

November 11th, 2005 · No Comments

New rules that compel clubs participating in the National
Division 1 & 2 leagues to organise and supply an accredited
referee for the match immediately following theirs, in
tournaments, seem set to be tested at Halifax this weekend.

Both Houghton Regis and Southsea have failed to advise Director
of Officials, Mike Richardson, of who they have organised to
referee the matches they are responsible for and should they not
provide referees or use referees that other clubs have organised
they will be fined £25 for each match, plus risk the penalties of
causing a forfiet.

“The NRHA Executive are very serious about this rule and fines
will be taken from the participation bonds of offending clubs
and suspensions issued till payment is made” said Kos Galtos

“The sport needs everyone to pull their weight and Clubs have to
get the message that if they want to play matches, they need to
recruit, develop and support their own referees and not freeload
of other Clubs that do the right thing!”
