The NRHA are pleased to confirm that VICTOR HUGO will be attending the National Training Weekend on 7/8th May being held at Bushfields Sports Centre, Orton Centre, Peterborough. He will be assisting Carlos Amaral and the other National Team Coaches with the on-rink training of ALL those attending over the weekend.
Victor Hugo was generally regarded as the best player in the world though the ‘90s, taking over the mantle of Livramento.
During his career when he played for the Portuguese National Team he won European and World Championship medals on various occasions. Some of them were when he was Captain of the team. Whilst playing for F C Porto Victor also captained the team to successes in many National and European League and Cup Championships.
Again he achieved successes for the F C Porto Club in the National and European league and Cup championships as the Club Team Coach. This was followed by a period as the Portuguese National Senior Team Coach, and his teams won the European Championships in 1998 and the World Championships in 2003.
Victor is still only in his early 40s and is now playing in Espinho, Portugal where he lives.
We appreciate that a player and coach who has achieved so much in his career is prepared to come to England to help us with the development of our players and know that all who attend the sessions will benefit from his knowledge and experience.
