If you have logged onto Gordon Morrison’s web site recently to have a look at his latest batch of roller hockey photos, tucked away in one corner you will see a poster detailing the Coupe Des Nations tournament Switzerland. Immediately undeneath is a small statement that simply says “Pictures in association with UkRollerHockey”
What this means in reality is that the quality of Gordon’s photos has been recognised elsewhere, and he has had a formal invitation to attend the tournament (expenses paid I hope) as official photographer of the event.
If you have been viewing the photos on Gordon’s wen site on a regular basis, you mighty have noticed a subtle change in his approach to photography. The latest set of photos, taken at a tournament in France, not only captuure the action as usual, but the atmosphere of the event as well.
Gordon told me “I think this invitation has come about because of the pictures I have been taking over the last few years of international games at most levels. The members of the Coupe des Nations cup tournament committee seem to like the style of picture I am trying to capture and the selection of pictures in the final compilations. This year the Swiss are very keen to make this tournament one to remember and getting the right pictures and placing them on websites for the world to see for years to come will do just that.”
So congratulations to Gordon. We look forward to seeing the results.
