HBU Vs. Turquell (3-3)

April 11th, 2004 · No Comments

Both teams played a patient tight zone man to man with due respect for each others ability from the start of the match.

Each held good possession through systematic passing and penetration and were rewarded with a goal a piece early in the first half which were soon followed by a penalty to Turquell after a tripping foul in HBU’s area with the first half end 1-2 to Torquell.

The determined hockey of both teams impressed the near full house and the second half prooved just as entertaining.

Austin’s technical skills and sheer speed made him a continious threat to the opponents and within a minute he combined with Jackson in a clever one two into the area to place the ball over the goalkeepers right shoulder to even the match.

The supburb HBU defense not only kept them in the game but resulted in a counter attack goal from Austin that was void due to the German referees overeagerness to blow a penalty, which was stopped.

At 12 to go HBU Captain McVey took a lovely intercept playing the ball up to Jackson to score top right to put his team ahead!

Torquell equalise with 3.40 remaining from a shot from the right through broken play.

Despite intense play from both teams HBU held on to a 3-3 result to earn a place in the finals.
