Sunday saw Middlesbrough host the Northern Counties Schoolboys League and the home side certainly took full advantage of being on their home rink. Ray Stewart, Team Coach said “We had 2 players playing who have played Premier League this season and we arranged for them to play despite the Premier League being away at the same time and the experience certainly showed. We lost a game in the last tournament at Spectrum which put us on the back foot but we have managed to put that behind us and everyone did really well”
Middlesbrough are now 6 points clear at the top of the table with 15 points after winning all four matches at the Rainbow.
Spectrum are joint third with Manchester on 9 points despite losing 3 of their 4 games by a single goal.
Manchester won 2 and lost 2 of their games, the two won were against Spectrum and Moss Side and lost twice against the league leaders Middlesbrough.
Moss Side, despite losing all 4 of their games showed a lot of promise and competed in every match which is a credit to their players and coaches.
A lot now hinges on the next tournament which is at Moss Side on 28/03/04, espercially for the sides looking to catch Middlesbrough
