Defending Premier League Champions HBU were
beaten at home in their first match of the season by new
boys, Bury.
Bury, recently returned to the PL are a mixture of the
excellent Bury Youth programme, and players who
have transferred from Letchworth and Maidstone.
The Champions first game last season resulted in a
draw against local derby rivals Maidstone (who have
unfortunately folded as a Premier League outfit, but still
have an active a progressive youth team). Despite this,
they still went onto a relatively comfortable
Championship win for 2002/3.
Only time will tell if HBU can hold onto their crown until
the end ofthe season, with new exciting players at clubs
like London and Manchester, and other clubs such as
Bury and Boro benefiting from transferred players.
Will HBU keep the crown? Only time will tell….an
exciting season awaits.
