At the NRHA AGM on 6th July, despite 28 people attending the meeting, unfortunately no-one volunteered for the now vacant role of Treasurer. Adrian Smith thankfully agreed to ‘caretake’ the position until a replacement could be found.
Following conversations at the Peter Wimble Veterans Cup in Southsea earlier this month, Adrian Smith today announced that Stephen Hancocks or ‘Big Bill’ as he is affectionately known, had taken the role of Treasurer under consideration, and today agreed to take the role.
When asked how he felt about taking the role, he said “I’m very happy to accept the position of Treasurer! I’ve spent 20 years taking form the sport I love, it’s time I put a bit back in!”
Bill, from Grimsby RHC is a Premier League player, and is also a Sales Engineer for a Chemicals company in East Yorkshire & Humberside, which often takes him around the UK and Europe. He is never far from his mobile or email, so will be able to keep things ticking over as he and Adrian do the handover of the role leading up to the next NRHA EXEC meeting on August 10th.
Bill will shortly be available on the official Treasurers NRHA email address, but in the meantime, he can be contacted on the email address below :
