During the Last Premier League game of the season, between Letchworth & Herne Bay United, the Letchworth Coach was given a Red Card for dissent. Carlos Amaral received a 1 match ban, which was served during the U20’s National Cup Final on 5th July, where he was banned from the touchline.
“People have drawn comparisons between this case and that of the Red Card incident involving another Portugueuse Coach, Carlos Ismael” said Tony Czifra. “It is not appropriate to detail such obscene language used by Ishmeal on a website, but the severity of the cases, and therefore the severity of the penalties, are entirely justified.”
In defence of Amaral, Tony said “Carlos has accepted his punishment, and was not allowed at the touchline with his team, and quietly watched his team from the stands. As any good coach would though, he joined them in the dressing room for a half time talk – which of course is not prohibited in the rules.” Letchworth went on to win the game.
