Paul Williams, the National Co-ordinator has submitted this report, the penultimate one for the season for ND1. Top Scorer Chart to follow :
hi everyone, finally i have managed to catch up, this is for Herne Bay Utd’s home tournament on the 1st June 2003.
One of the surprising results of this tournament is the win of Kings Lynn against Houghton Regis with Kings Lynn winning 3-2, this game looked like a real nail-biter with no goals in the last 15 minutes.
This was also the long awaited match between Herne Utd and Herne Bay Utd. Herne Utd being the only team who have not lost a match yet!! This game ended with Herne Bay Utd beating Herne Utd 6-3 to leave the Division 1 table with Herne Bay Utd having: Played 17
Won 15
Drawn 1
Lost 1
Herne Utd: Played 14
Won 12
Drawn 1
Lost
So if Herne Utd can win their 3 games in hand it will be down to the wire against Herne Bay Utd.
In the goalscorers race Jason Wakenshaw of Houghton Regis has moved back into joint first place alongside Matt Radcliffe of Halifax. Byron Davies and Paul Goulbourne scored 8 & 9 goals respectively to go into joint second place but the highest climber with 10 goals was George Goulbourne of Herne Utd.
A big finale at Southsea can be expected.
cheers
Paul Williams
