CONGRATULATION TO SECRHA UNDER 13′S! ! !!

SECRHA 2 pipped ECRHA 1 to the title today, at their home tournament at the Pier, Herne Bay, but rarely has such a competition been so tightly matched between 2 teams!

SECRHA 2 needed to win all their games to be level on points with ECRHA 1 who completed all their games on 10th May at Soham.

SECRHA, despite a scare against NCRHA EAST who they scraped a 3-2 win over, took all their points. This meant that SE & EC were level on points, with SECRHA 2 having a greater goal difference. HOWEVER!! ! As defined in Article 75 of the Rules of the Game, Overall Goal Difference only counts if 3 OR MORE teams are tied on points.

Frantic work this afternoon by the NRHA Competitions Team then meant that the Winner had to be assessed by Article 75, Section 2.1.b (result of the matches between the tied teams). This also resulted in a draw on points:

8th March : ECRHA ONE 5 vs SECRHA TWO 3
10th May : SECRHA TWO 5 vs ECRHA ONE 0

Hence the FINAL deciding factor came into play, point ‘C’ of the rule. with ECRHA ONE conceeding 3 more goals in their 2 games then the Southerners, the SOUTH EASTERN COUNTIES UNDER 13′S ARE CROWNED CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND 2002/3 !!

Trophy and Individual Medals will be awarded to the Winners and Runners Up at National Finals Day on July 5th.

Results of the event at Herne Bay are on the Competitions page with a full breakdown of all matches.

Here are the reults of the day :

SECRHA ONE 1 vs NCRHA EAST 3
SECRHA TWO 17 vs NCRHA WEST 0
SECRHA ONE 10 vs SCRHA ONE 3
SECRHA TWO 3 vs NCRHA EAST 2
SCRHA ONE 4 vs NCRHA EAST 11
SECRHA ONE 14 vs NCRHA WEST 8
SECRHA TWO 7 vs SCRHA ONE 1

The event was marred by the non-attendance of the SCRHA TWO side, who in accordance with the rules, lost all games by the highest margin of the round (17-0) and have been deducted 8 points for the 4 games forfeited. The Region will be referred to the Disciplines & Disputes Officer for action.
