URGENT – GOAL KEEPER PADS IN 2003/4 ! !

Dear All

Just to reconfirm that INTERNATIONAL RULES will apply for Goal Keeper pads in ALL NATIONAL LEAGUES next season (EXCEPT THE VETERANS NATIOANAL LEAGUE). This was made plain to all clubs at the AGM 2 years ago, re-confirmed at the AGM in 2002, and minuted. Allowance was given for the 2002/3 season for all leagues except National Premier, but this is to be REMOVED for 2003/4 season.

Comments have come back from the last ND1 event that goalkeepers were still not aware of this rule. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF CLUB SECRETARIES to keep your players informed of rulings in Roller Hockey that effect them. If you are unable to keep your players informed, promote and ‘push’ the NRHA websites so that they can keep aware of developments THEMSELVES.

There is no leeway from September 1st 2003 for this for ND1. All Referees will be instructed to check the legpads and gloves of all goalkeepers. Any goalkeeper using illegal pads will not be allowed to play. Should they subsequently play, their team will forfiet the match.

All Equipment Suppliers in the UK were informed of this, and advised bvy myself to tell players buying the old size pads of their limited lifetime in National Competitions. If they did not informe you of this, please take this up with them – NRHA will support you. PLEASE NOTE – For Regional Leagues, this rule may not apply – that is up to the Local Regional Executive Committee.
