SECRHA won the Intermediates U15’s League on Saturday, but it was a close run thing.

Here’s a report from Stewart Henderson, National U15’s League Co-ordinator :

Report from this Saturday:-

Three teams entered this weekends final tournament with any one theoretically being able to come away Champions.

The South East held a 3 point lead, with the North West and North East tied in 2nd but with the NW having a greatly superior goal difference over
the NE.

The first deciding game of the day was between the South East (who were now fielding a full strength team) against the North West (who regrettably
on this occasion having no recognised Goal Keeper in their squad).

The result ended SE 7 NW1, the SE were now Champions.

NE were now playing for Runners Up Spot.

This was decided by the SE verses the NE. A Game the SE wanted to win to uphold their so far unbeaten run, also a
game the NE had to win to become runners up.

This game was afterwards described by International Referee John Millar as
“the best Inters Game I have Refereed or watched in along time ” with him
actually complaining that “at that standard the match should have been 20mins each way”

This Game finished 1 – 0 to the North East who some how held onto to their slender lead.
It was end to end with the South East trying all their superior tactical play to outwit a passionate NE Team.

This was what Inters Hockey is all about.

So the final positions ended

1st – SECRHA 1
2nd – NCRHA(East)
3rd – NCRHA (West)
4th – ECRHA 2 (well done guys!)
5th – ECRHA 1
6th – SCRHA 1
7th – SCRHA 2
