North East Inters Claim Second

Sunday saw the final Intermediates tournament of the season which was played at Maidstone.

This was always going to be a tough play to visit, but despite this the team had a full compliment of players who stuck to their tasks fantastically.

North East won their first game by a slim 1-0 against a Maidstone side (SECRHA) who they had narrowly lost 2-1 against only weeks before and who had beaten Middlesbrough schoolboys 4-0 in the national cup qualifiers.

After this tough start, the North East team strolled to a comfortable 12-0 win against SCRHA 2 and 7-1 against SCRHA 1.

Stewart Henderson, Team Manager said “It has been both a pleasure and a privilege to work with all of the players in this completion, where everyone has proved to the rest of the UK the strength of Intermediate Hockey in the North East”

Well done to you all, and with some extra work next season, we should be looking to go 1 better than our 2nd place finish.
