Many teams this season are putting as many goals past the opposition as possible, in a hope to ensure they are ‘top team’ of their league on goal difference if neccessary.

However, Article 75 of the International Rules of the game show that Goal Difference is only calculated on ALL GOALS in the lower classification level of teams.

This means if 2 teams are drawn on points, only the goals scored BETWEEN THOSE 2 TEAMS count in the first instance.

Goals scored in the whole competition only come into play if 3 or more teams are drawn on the same points.

So MAKE SURE you read Article 75 before you assume your team has won the league if you are drawn on points! The International Rules of the game are available as a free download from this site.
