A game which promised so much did not fail to deliver in this encounter of great teams , Herne Bay and Middlesbrough. Middlesbrough were infront 4-1 at one stage in the game only to be thwarted by Herne Bay’s stream of relentless attacking play to bring the final score to 5-5, Sam Jackson potting the final goal in the last minute. Ian Smith excelled in goal showing the form that brings him into the England squad, and every other player gave their all in a physical, but technical and skillful game. Mark Rutland scored his hat-trick in the first half, past renowned England goalkeeper Danny Barton.Middlesbrough may feel robbed here, but Herne Bay will be very happy with a point and the league.
