Letchworth fought back in the title race with a well won 3 points by beating visitors Middlesbrough at Hitchin on Saturday.

Letchworth took a 3 nil lead against the Teessiders, who fought back, but could only manage 2 goals against their hosts. Boro’ fielding 4 players under 20 did their best, but without the experience of Derrick Smith and Stewart Hutchinson, did well to keep Letchworth to only 5 goals. Ian Smith in goal had another outstanding match.

With Carlos Amaral, the Coach of Letchworth countering every tactic the Boro side tried to employ, it very early on became an uphill battle for Boro’.

Letchworth can still win the title, but HBU are in the driving seat.
