On Saturday 22nd March, at the Priory School Hitchin, Letchworth take on Premier League Champions Herne Bay United. Letchworth are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League, with 5 wins out of 6, having draw 9-9 all in a thrilling match against Manchester earlier in the season. Letchworth, who are the only team to have broken HBU’s dominance over the Premier League in the past 10 years and win the Championship from them, will be desperately looking to win this match, to try to snatch the title from HBU THIS season. With many of the Letchworth team working hard in a talented England Team, could this be their season? HBU have 9 points and are unbeaten, and have 3 games in hand on Letchworth, due to European Cup committments earlier in the season. The match is a 4pm start, so get there early! Maidstone, who are only 4 points behind Letchworth will of course have something to say about this! Middlesbrough also entertain Manchester in the Northern Derby on Saturday night at the Rainbow Centre in M’bro, and will be looking to avenge a stinging defeat by the Northwesterners at the Arcadia, earlier in the season.
On Sunday in the North, a battle at the other end of the table takes place at The Metrodome, Barnesley, where Sheffield take on Grimsby. Sheffield will be without the influential services of Dave Beard, who received a Direct Red Card in Sheffield’s last outing. In the South on Sunday, the League table should look a lot clearer by the evening, as big guns Maidstone & HBU face each other @ Maidstone’s home turf, The Sterling Centre, Rochester. Results will be posted on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon to ‘Competitions’ on PRH, to keep you right up to date with the Title Race. For details of these matches, including start times, who will be Refereeing etc, see the ‘Competitions’ page above.
