NRHA Launches Local League Initiative

February 27th, 2003 · No Comments

After an initial delay, the NRHA of England’s Marketing Director, Kos Galtos, today launched a recruitment initiative designed to assist Clubs and interested parties to organise Local competitions for kids to take up Roller Hockey.

“Most kids gain their experiences of sport from ‘muck around’ games with small groups of friends in the playground” said Kos, “As Roller Hockey has no ‘playgrounds’ where kids can just turn up and play, we need make the effort to provide these local opportunities.”

The NRHA has committed to support those who sign-up to organise local leagues by providing high quality posters and flyers, at no charge, and is approaching England’s equipment suppliers and asking them to provide significant discounts on materials used exclusively in these leagues.

“Ten Clubs came forward when this idea was initially raised last year and I shall be writing to them all tomorrow to establish their commitment and to offer the NRHA’s support” said Kos.

The NRHA has issued a guide to setting up Local Leagues and a sample flyer that is available for Download from PRH. Interested parties are encouraged to contact Kos who is keen to assist and answer any question that you may have.

A discussion thread has also been established on TalkRollerHockey.net in the ‘Marketing’ forum where questions, thoughts and opinions can be raised.
