NRHA helping Clubs to secure venues

January 29th, 2003 · No Comments

The NRHA has shown its commitment to helping Clubs to grow Roller Hockey in England by offering its assistance in securing venues for our sport to be played in.

“Many local councils and sports centres are under the misconception that Roller Hockey marks their floor” said Tony Czifra, NRHA Competitions Director.

Tony has put together a letter that is now available for download on PRH that can be presented to local councils in support of attempts to play Roller Hockey in today’s modern leisure centres, with today’s modern Roller Hockey equipment.

“Some clubs have even managed to have decisions made by council employees overturned by working with local Councillors and MP’s who quite rightly want to see kids develop in ALL sports.” said Tony, “They see Roller Hockey as a great way to ‘get kids off the streets”.

In some instances, the lack of training facilities has seriously hampered a player’s capability to play for their country and this is a direct result of the local councils misunderstanding of modern roller hockey’s non-marking equipment.

“Where we have managed to help a club convince local councils of the benefits of having an International Player in the region using their facilities, the NRHA are proud to have been of assistance!” said Tony.

“We strongly encourage Clubs to use the letter from the NRHA to help convince venue management that they should be promoting Roller Hockey”.

For further assistance contact Tony Czifra or any member of the NRHA Executive Committee, including your Regional President.

DO NOT JUST ACCEPT the council saying ”go away, you can’t play here!”.
