This year’s England under 17’s team is being picked exclusively from players selected to represent their regions teams in the National under 15s and under 17’s leagues, and players and reserves from these teams have today been invited by mail to attend national team trials at.

The Metodome, Queens Ground, Queens Rd, Barnsley, South Yorkshire on Saturday
1st February 2003 at 12 noon.

The Highworth Recreation Centre, The Elms, Highworth, Swindon, Wiltshire on
Saturday 1st March 2003 at 12 noon.

“I am keen to get the squad together and training as soon as possible.” said Coach, Kos Galtos, “This year I shall select a smaller initial training squad of around 16 floor players and 4 goalkeepers and we will work even harder together then in previous years to earn a place in the Europe’s top 5.”

“I shall also ensure that I attend every National Under 17 match of the NRHAL and as many Under 15’s matches as I can to ensure we have the best players representing England.”

“We shall also be organising international under 17 trial matches in the summer so that the players first taste of international competition is not at the European’s”

Kos also said “I will be on particular look out for under 15’s that show potential as I would like to ensure we take away at least 2 younger players to gain experience at the European’s that can be drawn upon next season.”

“I also invite interested Regional team Coaches to come and assist with the National Squad practises and matches as it is important for us all to work together to build a better future for our sport.”

Interested players should immediately contact Team Manager Gordon Morrison to confirm attendance at the selection trials and are reminded that they must hold a valid British passport and must not have turned 17 years of age in 2003.
