In a surprise upset South Korea beat an under performing Australia 3-5 for 9th place in the championship.

As expected Colombia significantly beat New Zealand 11-0 and Andorra scraped through with a late penalty to beat Austria 2-1.

The host nation Uruguay faced South Africa in what turned out to be a great game in where the hosts were pushed all the way to their 3-2 win, though where fortunate to have had the strong support of the crowd and a little help with some of the decisions.
