Last Night at the World’s

December 11th, 2002 · No Comments

Last night at the worlds New Zealand beat Australia 5-4, with New Zealand’s Craig Mackie scoring a hat trick of 3 in the match. As a result after just 2 games Australia will have to play South Korea twice for the 9th to 10th position!

South Korea lost to South Africa 0-12, Austria drew with Macau 3-3 and Colombia beat Andorra 3-0 in a convincing win that thoroughly exposed Andorra’s weaknesses.

These results mean that England will have to play Macau (again) in the quarterfinals and if they win will be likely to play hosts Uruguay in the Semi’s.

Also, despite only playing only 2 qualifying matches in the group stage England’s 18 year old James Taylor has ranked 3rd top scorer of the competition so far, with first and second place scorers having both played South Korea and piled in the goals!
