Ref Comes Through For McVey

December 8th, 2002 · No Comments

In what was the right thing to do, and a pleasant surprise, the CERH has contacted the NRHA to advise that at the request of the match referee the red card incorrectly issued to HBU’s Phil McVey during last weeks European Cup Match in Italy has been withdrawn.

When issuing a yellow card to McVey the referee, who admitted such later, mistakenly believed that he had already given the player two yellows earlier in the match and accordingly issued a red.

Upon realising his mistake at the end of the match the referee advised HBU officials that he would report his error to CERH officials to try to ensure that his mistake would not rule McVey out of the return match and true to his word a fair outcome for all has been achieved.

HBU shall be playing Modena on Sat 14th Dec at 8.00pm at the Pier. Tickets are £3.50, in what will be a great opportunity for English Roller Hockey fans to see a great foreign team in action.
