Late Withdrawals Help England

December 8th, 2002 · No Comments

England’s quest for promotion to Group A is on track after receiving a boost today with last minute advise that North Korea and Egypt have withdrawn from the World B’s and that the competition has now been split into 2 groups of 5 teams, which are:
Group A: Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa and South Korea
Group B: Uruguay, Andorra, Macau, Colombia and Austria

The top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the semi finals and with England’s seeding helping them to gain entry in the easier group, England seem to be in a very good position for qualifying for the finals

Group B on the other hand looks far harder, and with all but Austria looking strong the competition for the finals places will be hotly contested.

“England are in good spirits, apart from James Taylor who has had to go to the Dentist with tooth ache, and are eager to begin their Championship” said Steve Taylor from Uraguay.

The team, now advised to the NRHA, is: Daniel Barton (HBU & Captain), David Beeson (Maidstone), Joe Wheatley (Maidstone), Mark Whaddingham (Grimsby), James Taylor (Infante Sagres), Nigel Allen (Letchworth), Robbie Fone (Letchworth), Shaun Pierce (Letchworth), Darrel Pierce (Letchworth), Jess I’Hanson (Letchworth), Carlos Amaral (Coach), Keith Allen (Manager)
