Highworth played host to the 2nd National Division 1 tournament with visitors from Halifax, Herne Bay United and Southsea.
With three of the most respected referees in attendance – Glyn Thomas, Tony Czifra & Kos Galtos – a well-disciplined day was anticipated but it proved lively too!
Full results can of course be obtained elsewhere on the PRH site so here are some brief one liners:
Halifax were top team winning all three of their matches including the best of the bunch, a 4-3 win over Herne Bay United
Man of the tournament though should surely go to Byron Davies who contributed no less than 17 of HBU’s 29 goals
Sympathies to Southsea who came away without a win – plenty of events left to change that though.
Particular congratulations to Nathan Reade, Highworth’s keeper in his first ever tournament and with just 4 weeks experience!
After just 2 events the league table is already beginning to take shape but all of the teams here are looking forward to some enjoyable tussles and re-matches in the coming months.
