Brilliant victory over Germany!

What a great match!” said Steve Taylor, England Trainer “The boys where behind from the start and fought hard for this win.”

Sam Jackson (Cpt.), Mat Oaten, Andrew Simms, Chris Brown and Ian Morrision started for England in what proved to be a cliff hanger of a match that tested the determination and character of both sides.

“The Germans scored first and stayed ahead until 3.17 minutes to go when for the first time in the match we got ahead on 3-2 only for them to draw even 8 seconds later”.

“With 1.5 minutes to go Mat Oaten scored, what looked like a clear goal, through a very physical German defense. After a short delay the Swiss referee, from our match the previous day, disallowed the goal to the distress of the England bench, but thankfully the closer referee to the action (Italian) overturned the decision and awarded the goal to England”.

With the score 4-3, England maturely banked a hard fought victory by maintaining intellegent possession of the ball until the final whistle.

Of special note in this solid team performance is the brilliant effort of Mat Oaten who scored 3 fabulous goals and Chris Brown who from all reports played brilliantly!
