The England Junior team will soon be heading off to the European Championships in Italy with what looks to be the strongest side to go away in years.
The team, recently announced by Coach Carlos Amaral, consists of Chris Brown, Ben Howes, Ben Jackson, Sam Jackson, Ian Morrison, Mat Oaten, Andrew Sims, James Taylor, Richard Wadsworth and Stavros Zacharia plus non-travelling reserves Kris Pay and Ian Smith.
“I now have great expectations for the Europeans because we’ve got a great team.” Said team member Sam Jackson, “Many who went to the Schoolboys in Chile are included and this time around I think we have more depth in our squad with the inclusion of Andrew Simms, Chris Brown and Ian Morrison.”
“We have about 5 or 6 floor players fighting for the 4 starting places and this is good because it pushes people to be at their best and put in 100% all of the time.”
“We also know that if someone gets injured or is tired we can put another player on who can do just as good a job”.
“Chile was a brilliant experience for everyone who went out there and it has given me a bigger drive to succeed now that I know it is possible to do well. I learnt a lot and the experience and knowledge that I gained can hopefully be applied in the juniors in Italy.”
The England Juniors are Coached by Carlos Amaral who is supported by Manager Gordon Morrison and Mechanic Steve Taylor.
