After the recent Ladies International in Oporto, Portugal, Claire Curry (England) wrote to host Club, Nortecoope, to thank them for putting on a great tournament and suggested an exchange of players.

To Claire’s surprise tournament organiser and player, Marcelo Martins de Albuquerque wrote straight back saying that he and his sister, Patricia (one of the best female players in the world), would be really interested in coming to England for up to 6 months.

Clair told PRH “I am willing to put them up in my house, but there is no Club near by so I wondered if any Club’s would be interested in having them and perhaps sending one of their players to Portugal.”
