In an email to National Competitions Director, Tony Czifra, The new President of Letchworth RHC, Keith Allen, this morning advised that Letchworth RHC are not able to field a team in this weekend’s Lennard’s Cup.
Despite registering to participate in the Lennard’s at the beginning of last season, Letchworth advised the NRHA that at the Club AGM last Friday the tournament was raised and it “was the first that some of the players had been notified about the date of the competition” and “it transpired that it is impossible for the Letchworth Club to put together a team to compete in this year’s event”.
“It’s disappointing that the Club did not communicate better with its members” said Tony Czifra, “The withdrawal at this very late stage is a disappointment that effects all of the other participants and is doubly disappointing because the dates where confirmed with Clubs last February, and Letchworth where one of only 3 Clubs that paid the entry fee at the start of last season.”
“Now we have a vacancy for a team willing to step in at the last minute to participate in this very important tournament.”
