This years Lennards Cup, 31 August to 1 September, looks set to be an exciting ‘kick off’ to season 2002/3 with the draw being made out tonight.
NRHA Director of Competitions, Tony Czifra, said “We have a really great line up of teams competing for the cup this year. Last seasons double winners Herne Bay United have entered for the first time in years, with 4 other Premier League teams and 3 strong non-premier league sides participating plus a strong England Schoolboy line up. It will be a great event!”
The format of the event will be in the classic ‘Lennards’ tradition; 2 pools of four teams with each team having 3 pool matches, then a further match to decide the final placings. In the event of a playoff match being drawn in regular time, extra time will be played and, if necessary, then be decided by penalties.
The Draw will take place at Buckmore Park on Wednesday 7th August at 8.30pm and is open to all to attend. Teams in the competition are Herne Bay United RH&SC, Maidstone RHC, Middlesbrough RHC, Manchester RHC, Letchworth RHC, Herne United RHC, Farnham RHC, England Schoolboys.
